Job Summary

The Risk and Permanent Control (RPC) department monitors and controls all risks related to CACIB London, including market risk, credit risk, counterparty risk, and operational risk. The team is seeking a 12-month Risk Intern to support RPC, working alongside experienced risk managers, analysts, and technology specialists. The role will focus on enhancing the use of AI technologies in RPC UK and improving the efficiency of risk reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Internal Reporting

  • Prepare the London risk dashboard and London risk committee materials.
  • Perform data analysis, visualization, and quality assurance tasks related to risk metrics.

Innovation & Transformation

  • Assist in the development and integration of AI-driven tools to enhance risk monitoring and decision-making.
  • Design and build internal tools (e.g., in Python and Excel) to streamline and simplify risk reporting, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy.
  • Engage with stakeholders across business lines to understand risk reporting needs and identify opportunities to harmonize reports, reduce duplication, and enhance the quality of management information.
  • Document process improvements and share learnings with the wider team to support ongoing knowledge development.

Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and internal Compliance requirements, including (but not limited to) the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure you are fully qualified to undertake the role.
  • Complete all mandatory training required to attain and maintain competence.

Candidate Criteria

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or equivalent.
  • Field of study: Degree in Risk, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Required skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Technical skills: Strong Python programming skills, including data processing, automation, and API integration.
  • AI/ML: Exposure to AI/ML concepts.
  • Tools: Familiarity with Excel/VBA, SQL, and PowerBI.
  • Business knowledge: Basic understanding of financial markets and the banking industry.
  • Other skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Language: English.
