About the Programme

The Deutsche Bank 9-week Summer Internship Programme is designed to help you develop your skills through formal training and continuous support. You’ll quickly gain the confidence to take on real projects by learning firsthand how and what we deliver for clients worldwide. You’ll be supported by colleagues across the business and begin to develop your professional network.

About the Division

Our Investment Banking & Capital Markets (IBCM) business provides a full range of advisory and financing products and services of a leading global investment bank. Our clients include large-cap and mid-cap corporates, financial institutions, governments, government agencies, and financial sponsors.

About the Role

Interns are given the opportunity to learn about the business from different viewpoints, providing a career advantage.

Working on day-to-day business activities and special projects, you will contribute to the development of new ideas to help clients achieve their financial goals.

You will gain experience across different areas of the business and discover market-leading solutions firsthand.

Your day-to-day tasks may vary depending on your business area; intern responsibilities may include:

  • Performing in-depth company and industry research and analysis
  • Supporting the execution of client advisory and financial transactions, managing multiple projects
  • Preparing marketing materials and transaction documentation, including confidential memoranda, board papers, pitch books, corporate profiles, and analysis
  • Conducting detailed financial modelling, valuation, and forecasting of financial statements
  • Working with Equity Sales and Research teams to service public clients and track and win IPO opportunities
  • Developing an understanding of the bank’s product suite

  • Sector Coverage: Consumer, Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Healthcare, Industrials, Infrastructure and Utilities, Real Estate/Gaming/Lodging, Leisure (REGLL), Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT)
  • Product Groups: Leveraged Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Country Coverage: Nordic, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA)

What We Look For

  • Strong foundational knowledge and interest in Corporate Finance and Accounting
  • Confident, constructive, and effective communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with clients and contribute to day-to-day client relationships
  • Ability to solve problems, organize tasks, and manage multiple projects with demanding timelines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Interest and ability to work collaboratively across the Deutsche Bank platform and global teams to support clients
  • A financial background isn’t required; comprehensive training programmes will provide the technical skills you need

Eligibility for the 2027 Internship Programme

  • Complete your studies (all final exams and coursework, with no outstanding requirements for graduation) between 1 August 2027 and 31 July 2028
  • Be able to start full-time work in July 2028, subject to local working legislation and visa requirements
  • Return to full-time study after the 2027 internship. If you do not return to full-time study, you will not be eligible for the 2028 Graduate Programme
  • Have achieved at least 3 A-Levels at grade AAA, with a minimum grade A in A Level Maths (or the UCAS points equivalent if you studied outside the UK—please research grade equivalents)
  • Be on track for a 2:1 or First (or equivalent) in your undergraduate degree
  • Possess no more than 12 months full-time, relevant work experience
  • For some placements in IBCM, in addition to English, fluency in a European language is desirable
