About the Programme

The Deutsche Bank Internship Programme is designed to help you develop your skills through formal training and continuous support. You’ll gain confidence by working on real projects and learning first-hand how and what we deliver for clients worldwide. You’ll be supported by colleagues across our business and start to build your professional network.

The seasonal internship is a 6-month full-time programme (March 2026 – September 2026), designed for students in their penultimate year of study who are looking for a long-term internship as part of their course.

About the Division

Our Investment Banking & Capital Markets (IBCM) business provides the full range of advisory and financing products and services of a leading global investment bank. Our clients include large-cap and mid-cap corporates, financial institutions, governments, government agencies, and financial sponsors.

We support clients with industry sector, country, and regional expertise aligned to high-quality client solutions. We offer both buyside and sellside advisory services for mergers and acquisitions, restructuring advisory, debt and equity capital raising (including our dedicated Environmental Social Governance (ESG) solutions), and structured equity transactions. We advise on innovative cross-border and regional transactions in the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

About the Role

Our interns learn about the business from different viewpoints, giving you a career advantage. You will work on day-to-day business activities as well as special projects, contributing to the innovation of new ideas to help customers achieve their financial goals.

You will gain experience across different areas of our business and learn about our market-leading solutions firsthand. Your daily tasks will vary depending on your business area, but responsibilities may include:

  • Monitoring capital market activity, trends, and investor sentiment, and performing in-depth company analysis on specific situations
  • Supporting the execution of client advisory and financial transactions while managing multiple projects with rigid and, at times, global timelines
  • Preparing marketing materials and transaction documentation, including pitch books, corporate and investor profiles, and analysis
  • Conducting detailed financial analysis, market data, and transaction details to identify appropriate comparables and contribute to pricing recommendations for new issuances
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders (including sales, research, and legal) and external parties (including investors and legal counsel)
  • Building an in-depth understanding of the products and services offered and how they apply to client needs

What We Look For

We recruit students and graduates who have:

  • A strong foundational knowledge and interest in global capital markets, corporate finance, macroeconomics, and accounting
  • Confident, constructive, and effective communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with clients and contribute to day-to-day client relationships
  • The ability to solve problems, organize tasks, and manage multiple projects with demanding timelines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • An interest and ability to work collaboratively across the Deutsche Bank platform and global teams in support of clients

A financial background isn’t required. Our comprehensive training programmes will provide you with the technical skills you’ll need to build a career with us.

Eligibility (2027 Internship Programme)

  • Complete your studies (all final exams and coursework) and have no outstanding requirements for graduation between 1 August 2027 and 31 July 2028
  • Be able to start full-time work in July 2028, subject to local working legislation and visa requirements
  • Return to full-time study after the 2027 internship. If you do not return to full-time study, you will not be eligible for the 2028 Graduate Programme
  • Achieve at least 3 A-Levels at grade AAA, with a minimum grade A in A Level Maths or the UCAS points equivalent (if you studied outside the UK, please research the grade equivalents before proceeding)
  • Be on track for a 2:1 or First (or equivalent) in your undergraduate degree
  • Have no more than 12 months full-time, relevant work experience
  • For some IBCM placements, fluency in a European language is desirable (in addition to English)
