Purpose of the Role

Participate in the day-to-day activities of the Private Bank and Wealth Management division, providing insights and expertise to help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Execute small research projects to support strategic decision-making, including preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings.
  • Collaborate with senior management to implement research findings for Private Bank and Wealth Management.
  • Work closely with high-net-worth clients and their advisors who have complex banking and investment needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participate in training and development programmes to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support the management, deployment, and launch of new products and services for Private Bank and Wealth Management.
  • Manage client relationships and provide customer service support, responding to questions about products and services, and processing transactions under steadily decreasing supervision.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that assist decision-making in Private Bank and Wealth Management.
  • Train and mentor junior colleagues.

Who We're Looking For

  • Be in your penultimate year of your degree, in any discipline.
  • Have a keen interest in business and finance and curiosity to learn.
  • Show resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit, potentially through extracurricular involvement.
  • Barclays can accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK and will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria.
  • If you are not eligible for a skilled worker visa and a visa cannot be secured, you must have your own legal right to work in the UK on a full-time basis from June 2027 to August 2027.
