Purpose of the Role

To participate in the day-to-day activities of the transaction banking division, providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Execute small research projects to support strategic decision-making; prepare presentations and reports to communicate research findings; collaborate with senior management to implement research findings for transaction banking; participate in the development of payment solutions for global companies; and support end-to-end product management with risk controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and manage the deployment and launch of new products and services for transaction banking.
  • Manage client relationships and provide customer service support to clients and customers, responding to questions about products and services, processing transactions, and working under steadily decreasing supervision.

Who We're Looking For

  • Be in your penultimate year of your degree, in any discipline.
  • Have a keen interest in finance and business.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit, which may be reflected through extracurricular activities.

The location for this role is indicated in the job title, and you will be based at that location. If accepted into the graduate programme, your base location will be the same as it was during your internship.

Barclays will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK. Barclays will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria. Successful applicants who are not eligible to receive a skilled worker visa, and who Barclays is therefore unable to secure a skilled worker visa for, will be required to have their own legal right to work in the UK on a full-time basis from June 2027 to August 2027.
