Purpose of the Role
To support the day-to-day operations of the finance division by providing insights and expertise that help more senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.
Accountabilities
- Perform daily profit and loss analysis for business units, identifying and researching performance impacts, trends, and insights.
- Compile regular reports, scorecards, and presentations based on analysis for senior management.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist in calls and meetings with fiscal stakeholders.
- Support the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that enable decision-making.
- Train and mentor junior colleagues; facilitate individual or group training sessions; and develop and maintain training materials.
- Use data and data points in many forms (e.g., workforce, portfolios) to derive financials for key decision-making and to support strategic conversations with senior leaders.

- Demonstrate understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to achieving the objectives of the organization’s sub-function.
- Make evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information, with attention to detail.
- Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions using acquired technical experience and guidance from precedents.
- Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex or sensitive information.
- Act as a contact point for stakeholders outside the immediate function while building a network of contacts inside and outside the organization.

Why the Finance Summer Internship Program?
Finance teams gather, manage, and interpret vital data. Finance (including Treasury) oversees financial control, reporting and forecasting, as well as product control. Teams monitor budgets and provide the business with accurate, high-quality financial and management information, using advanced technology and tools to transform data and models to drive business improvements. They also support and challenge the business through enhanced insights, analytics, and resources.
As part of this global team, you will gain expertise in interpreting figures and understand the role of a critical business manager—helping shape strategy and ensuring operations remain on course.
Eligibility
- Graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
- GPA of 3.2 or above.
You should have a genuine passion for Finance and an enthusiastic mindset to thrive and make an impact.
The location for this role is indicated in the job title, and you will be based at that location. If you receive a return offer to the graduate program, your location will be the same as during your internship.
Working in New York
Join us at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue (Times Square). The 37-story tower includes a modern cafeteria, a fully equipped fitness center, and LED signage lighting up the skyline.
Salary
Salary / Rate Minimum: $78,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: $78,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits.
Visa / Sponsorship Information
Barclays will not offer or consider offering sponsorship for work visas or employment-based immigration sponsorship for individuals, now or in the future, unless such individuals are enrolled in or graduate with a degree in a field of study that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Education consider to be a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) field of study for purposes of the 24-month STEM OPT extension. This includes any internship, post-graduation program, or permanent employment.
