Global Capital Markets (GCM) Summer Analyst Program

The 10-week Global Capital Markets (GCM) Summer Analyst Program is an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere of Morgan Stanley’s GCM division by taking on the responsibilities and functions of a Full-Time Analyst.

Summer Analysts are assigned to a specific desk and gain exposure to the deal process, including business development, origination, structuring, and execution. You will also develop an understanding of how different areas of the bank—Corporate Finance, Sales & Trading, Research, and Mergers & Acquisitions—interact.

Training Program

Training begins in June with one week of intensive classroom training, including an introduction to Morgan Stanley followed by division-specific training. Throughout the internship, you will be exposed to business speakers, practical sessions, and opportunities to exchange ideas and learn from peers through social activities and events.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide support on the marketing and execution of offerings and products such as IPOs, capital increases, derivatives, and securitizations.
  • Prepare analyses of transaction precedents, shareholding structures, and stock metrics and performance.
  • Create financial models.
  • Gather market data to analyze trends, investor sentiment, and market outlooks.
  • Attend team discussions and client meetings, where you may be asked to deliver parts of a presentation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • You are in your penultimate year of study, graduating in 2028 from either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • You have strong analytical and numerical skills and are comfortable working with financial data.
  • You are results-driven and perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines.
  • You are a proven team player with the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
  • You have an excellent academic background and fluency in English; the ability to communicate effectively in another language is an advantage.
  • You articulate complex ideas clearly and summarize them effectively.
  • You are committed to excellence and maintain high professional and ethical standards.
