Placement and Duration
The 12-month Institutional Securities Group (“ISG”) Risk Management Industrial Placement Internship Program is designed for students required to complete a long-term internship as part of their studies or who are in their final year. The one-year internship is based in London, starts in June, and provides exposure to a variety of product areas, along with a clear understanding of how ISG operates as a whole.
ISG consists of the Sales & Trading, Investment Banking, Global Capital Markets and Research divisions. Training Program
All new Industrial Placement Interns participate in an orientation program covering the Firm’s businesses, the transition from an academic setting to a corporate environment, and opportunities to build a global network across the Firm. Interns then attend divisional training to learn the core skills required to succeed on the job.
In addition, interns learn and network with peers, mentors, and managers through group projects and other organised events.

Opportunities are available within the ISG Central Risk Team, responsible for developing, embedding, and delivering the Non-Financial Risk framework centrally across ISG businesses. This includes operational, regulatory, supervision, data, cyber, model and trader mandate risk, as well as financial crimes risk.
As an in-business risk management team, we partner with ISG business stakeholders, infrastructure groups, and 2nd line control functions to establish and maintain an effective risk management program tailored to ISG’s Non-Financial Risk profile.
The team has a global presence, with members located in New York, London, Mumbai, and Hong Kong.
Successful applicants will support one or more risk areas during the placement, including assisting with:
- Organising and running senior internal NFR forums
- Managing regulatory change initiatives and responding to regulatory requests
- Monitoring and identifying trends from employee conduct incidents and supporting associated training
- Supporting ISG third-party risk management activity across the service lifecycle
- Partnering with internal control and support functions to resolve open items and progress projects in alignment with project milestones
Compensation: Salary is competitive, with excellent benefits.
