Who You Are

We are looking for driven people who want to make a real impact in global finance. If you are passionate about learning, collaborating, and problem-solving, we will provide the tools to help you thrive.

  • Natural collaborator and relationship builder: Enjoy working closely with different people across teams and seniority levels to find the best outcome.

Here’s a taste of what you could get involved in:

  • Understand investment opportunities: Learn how we keep investors and their assets secure in a global marketplace.
  • Take the lead: Own a real project and gain hands-on experience with key products and services.
  • Explore the future: Discover how we use innovation, technology, and digital tools to serve clients better.
  • Dive into different specialisms: Work on projects linked to Custody, Funds & Depository Services, Agency Lending & Liquidity, Alternatives, Trustee & Fiduciary Services, Digital Data & Innovation, and Business Management.
  • See the big picture: Understand how post-trade services connect clients to investment opportunities while ensuring everything runs safely and smoothly.

What You’ll Learn

You will join a dedicated product team, with learning extending across product development, client service, business management, and risk.

You will develop sought-after skills in:

  • Client management and stakeholder engagement
  • Change and product development
  • Risk and innovation in post-trade services
  • Communication and teamwork in a global banking environment

You will also connect with other interns and colleagues across HSBC to build a broad network and deepen your understanding of how we work. Your first week focuses on structured training covering both technical knowledge and professional skills so you are ready to get started.

  • Be available to work full time for 10 weeks commencing June 2027
  • Have obtained, or expect to achieve, a minimum GPA of 4.0/5.0 or 3.2/4.0 (or an overseas equivalent as shown on your official university transcript/degree certificate)
  • Be fluent in English; knowledge of Mandarin/Cantonese would be an advantage
  • We will consider candidates that require visa sponsorship for this role

Application Notes

  • We only accept one application per recruitment cycle.
  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the vacancy may close earlier than the advertised closing date if there is a high volume of applications.
