2027 MBA Summer Intern – Credit Research Analyst (APAC)

Role: Credit Research Analyst

Credit Research analysts evaluate industries and companies to make investment recommendations to PIMCO’s portfolio managers group. They also provide analytical support by highlighting risks. Credit analysts at PIMCO specialize in a number of industries and cover all levels of the debt capital structure, including investment grade bonds, high yield (“junk”) bonds, bank debt, and convertibles.

Summer interns work alongside seasoned credit analysts, supporting their coverage responsibilities while learning about the industries and day-to-day activities.

Career Development, Training and Mentoring

Every intern begins their summer with a formal week of training through the PIMCO Fundamentals training program. Informal training continues throughout the summer in a perpetual learning environment. Interns are also teamed with a seasoned professional who provides guidance and mentorship throughout the internship.

Eligibility (You’re eligible to apply if you):

• Are pursuing an MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics (or a related, quantitative/analytical field) from an accredited leading business school or university, or another equivalent advanced degree as it relates to the position.
• Can begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 and August 2028.
• Are fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Are willing to work in PIMCO’s Hong Kong office.

• Skills conducting research and basic financial modeling; demonstrates natural intuition to make good judgments.
• Strong interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment finance.
• Proactive in thinking about potential investment ideas.
• Good communicator with strong written and oral presentation abilities; needs to be persuasive and credible.
• Ethical, collaborative, organized, flexible, high-energy, self-starter, accountable, and humble.
• Strong academic credentials and achievement.
• Curiosity and experience using emerging technologies and AI tools in work or school projects to solve problems and improve outcomes.

The PIMCO Internship Experience

• The internship is a 10-week program running from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration.
• During Week 1, you will participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training.
• Alongside colleagues, you will participate in PIMCO’s Global Month of Volunteering, developed to heighten the impact of employees’ worldwide volunteer efforts.
• Join cross-divisional education, networking, and social events.
• Your supervisor, peer mentor, senior leaders, and team provide guidance and mentorship throughout the summer.
• You will gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one, supported by training and resources to build future-ready skills.
• You will receive feedback at mid- and end-of-summer as part of a formal review process.

What to Expect During the Interview Process

• After receiving your application, PIMCO will conduct an initial review of your resume.
• If selected to move forward, you will be invited to complete a one-way video interview and assessment to showcase your interests, skills, and personality.
• After completing the assessment, you will participate in a final round of live interviews via video conference. These typically include both behavioral and technical questions.
