Global Subsidiary Banking Strategic Planning Intern
Internship Period: 11 January 2027 – 30 June 2027
Job Description
This position sits within the Global Corporate Banking Division, as part of the Strategy & Execution team for the Global Head of Subsidiary Banking. The Strategic Planning team partners with the Regional Heads, Country Heads, and different product offices to design and drive the wider Corporate and Investment Banking Strategy globally.
The candidate will work with the department head, other team members, and senior management to drive business growth across the front office organization across all regions. This role focuses on the growth of the Global Subsidiary Banking business (i.e., MNCs operating globally) by building global relationships with the largest index companies across MUFG’s global network.
On-the-Job Experience
- Build the foundation for a long, rewarding banking career and gain a glimpse into the world of consulting.
- Work with stakeholders across seniority levels from Day 1, gaining hands-on experience and insight into the inner workings of a global corporate bank.
- Support business deep dives to provide actionable insights by learning to deliver best-in-class analysis and presentation pitchbooks to senior management and product partners.
- Develop qualitative and quantitative skills through the program and refine them for agility to address a wide range of problem statements.
Support & Guidance
- Be paired with a mentor/manager to set goals, provide professional development, offer guidance, and conduct performance reviews.
- Network with peers, mentors, and senior managers through team-building sessions, speakers, and other organized events.
- Gain a better understanding of global banking and finance, along with an insider’s perspective on multinational clients’ complex financial needs addressed through MUFG’s global network.
Job Requirements
- Solid critical thinking and analytical capability, able to form and present conclusions and recommendations.
- Keen eye for detail and intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint, and/or Publisher) is a must.
- Growth mindset and a self-starter motivated to find opportunities and solutions.
- Ability to work independently and within teams to drive success for the organization.
- Strong partnership skills, with the ability to network and collaborate across internal departments.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-changing, global environment.
- Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
