Job Description

This position sits within the Financial Institutions team in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking, Asia Pacific. The Financial Institutions Group is a coverage unit, providing client solutions across the Banks, Institutional Investor, Sponsors, Public Sector, Insurance, and Diversified Financials segments. We are looking for a high-performing intern to join our team of business managers and FI management to drive business growth across our front office organization. The role focuses on the growth of the Financial Institutions business in Asia.

  • Assist the business in developing strategic initiatives for FI business development as a regional hub (in coordination with spoke countries in the coverage region), implementing them with FI Relationship Managers in the region and internal partners across MUFG, and assisting with the smooth execution of business matters to deliver financial targets.
  • Act as the primary analyst on key FI Asia projects submitted/presented to the Co-Global Head of Financial Institutions for business consideration/adoption.
  • Work with experienced stakeholders to learn different banking products, including (but not limited to) Investment Banking, Institutional Investors, Sponsors, Global Markets, Transaction Banking, and Treasury.
  • Work with coverage banking, solutions, and business management teams to understand business proposals, credit and financial analysis, deal execution, KYC, AML, and management.
  • Support written and verbal communications, including developing presentation materials and presenting to business partners and senior management.
  • Collaborate with business partners to gather information, analyze progress, and build buy-in for recommendations.
  • Perform problem-solving, including developing and testing hypotheses, conducting qualitative and quantitative data gathering and analysis to drive feasible solutions.
  • Support senior management with project management by planning and structuring work.

Job Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office (Project, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under strict timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • “Can-do” attitude and ability to learn new topics quickly.
  • Strong written and spoken English proficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate across regions/teams and deliver best-in-class results as a trusted partner.
  • Ability to work independently and within teams to drive success for the organization.
