SGX Internship Programme (Enterprise Risk)

SGX is Asia’s leading and trusted securities and derivatives market infrastructure, operating equity, fixed income, currency, and commodity markets to the highest regulatory standards. SGX also operates SGX FIRST (Future in Reshaping Sustainability Together), a multi-asset sustainability platform.

This internship programme is full-time and runs from January – June 2026. Interns will be immersed in real-time work from Day 1.

Note: Leave of Absence (LOA) may be required to take on the internship.

Enterprise Risk

Brief Overview

The Enterprise Risk team is a second line of defense function within SGX. It supports senior management and units within the organization to manage organizational risks and maintain business continuity.

Learning Objectives

• Undertake risk management activities in a financial institution, including execution of risk and control programs
• Understand third-party risks, technology and information security risks, and business continuity risks
• Perform risk analysis, management, and reporting
• Conduct business impact analysis
• Apply AI-enabled tools to support risk analysis, reporting, and knowledge management
• Use automation and workflow tools to improve efficiency of risk management processes
• Develop skills in prompt engineering and responsible use of Generative AI in a regulated financial institution
• Use data analytics and visualization techniques for risk monitoring and decision-making

Job Description

As an intern in the Enterprise Risk Unit, you will:

• Work closely with external and internal stakeholders (e.g. risk champions, BCM champions) to facilitate reviews of Enterprise Risk programs
• Assist with execution of Enterprise Risk Management programs (e.g. risk and control self-assessments, business impact analysis)
• Participate in the planning and execution of risk engagement activities to drive risk culture across the Group
• Conduct analysis of processes and controls to identify gaps/areas for improvement and assist with process redesign
• Conduct research and analysis on risk-related matters (e.g. identification and assessment of emerging risks)
• Prepare reports to Senior Management and the Board/Board Committees
• Leverage AI and data analytics tools to support risk reporting, trend analysis, research, and preparation of management presentations
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate risk management processes using AI, workflow automation, and productivity tools
• Support the development of dashboards, reports, and automated workflows to improve risk monitoring and data quality

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

• Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment
• Able to work independently as well as collaborate with stakeholders, proactively keeping seniors updated on work progress
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Knowledge and ability to use data analytics-related tools (e.g. Python, Power BI) is a plus
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar AI solutions) for research, reporting, and productivity enhancement is an advantage
• Interest in applying AI and automation technologies to improve business processes and operational efficiency
• Basic understanding of prompt engineering, data quality considerations, and responsible AI usage is a plus
