SGX Internship Programme – Finance & Corporate Development (FCD)

This internship programme is full-time. Interns will be involved in real-time work from Day 1.

Brief Overview

SGX Finance comprises various teams including Financial Reporting and Tax (FRT) and CFO Unit Operations and Controls (COC).

• FRT is responsible for (i) SGX Group’s financial reporting, accounting, and advisory matters, and (ii) all local and overseas tax matters of SGX Group, including corporate tax, withholding tax, GST/VAT, FATCA/CRS.
• COC is responsible for (i) overseeing the risk and controls issues in the CFO Unit, including running the Risk and Control Self-Assessment programme and governance of vendor managed services, (ii) finance operations such as billing, receipts from customers, and procure to pay activities, and (iii) treasury support on banking, investments, and funding matters.

Learning Objectives

• Gain multi-disciplinary exposure within Finance.
• Develop in-depth financial analysis skills, including use of available generative AI tools.
• Understand and appreciate the Finance function, including relevant policies, processes, and control activities.
• Gain exposure to the SAP enterprise system and other generative AI tools, including dashboarding for analysis.

Job Description

As a Finance intern, you will contribute to Finance teams. Responsibilities include:

• Contribute to month-end financial closing for SGX Group, including analysis of financial performance and key metrics of SGX Group.
• Perform valuation of SGX Group’s investments, including goodwill/intangible assets impairment assessment.
• Support digitalisation and streamlining of existing workstream processes using available generative AI tools (e.g., Snowflake).
• Review key controls in the CFO Unit in support of Control Self-Assessment and vendor due diligence.
• Prepare tax-related regulatory submission and compliance work.
• Participate in ad hoc efficiency/digitalisation projects as required.
