About the Internship
The 6-month internship is designed to provide first-class training and immediate responsibility, along with the support and development needed to start a successful career in financial services.
Who Can Apply?
To be considered for the placement, you will:
- Apply as an undergraduate student
- Have a GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0 or above (or equivalent) in any discipline
- Be fluent in spoken and written English (additional languages are an advantage)
- Demonstrate methodical, logical, solution-driven thinking, with commercial awareness and a keen interest in the latest finance topics and market trends

Induction
You will receive a comprehensive induction, including group training and an overview of the BNP Paribas Group.
Training
From day one, you will begin business-specific technical and financial training, alongside personal skills development to support a strong career start. Working with industry-leading specialists, you will gain on-the-job training throughout the internship and build your expertise through a structured development path.
What You Will Do
Business Analyst
- Assist with functional analysis on project and deployment matters (e.g., planning, quality assurance, managing requirements/constraints/risks/issues, stakeholder updates and management, and testing)
- Collaborate with service providers and colleagues to deliver quality services and solutions for project or sponsoring stakeholders
- Participate in studies and adopt/understand the methodologies used by the department, including applying these standards
- Monitor risks and issues related to quality, delays and costs; report major issues or deviations to management
- Liaise with end users to produce and/or refine business specifications
- Define and produce functional and/or technical testing plans and participate in user acceptance testing
- Liaise with Development, Front Office and Operations teams to ensure accurate functional coverage and validate test scenarios
- Follow up with development teams on implementation and rollout of new features
- Manage and escalate risks and issues
Infrastructure Analyst
- Deploy and support critical applications using web application and file transfer technologies
- Technologies/products include: IBM WAS / JBOSS EAP + EWS / IBM MQ / IBM CD / Axway ST / Axway CFT
- Create reporting dashboards
- Perform referential data reconciliation
- Provide monitoring services
- Support incident and change management
- Implement automation
- Deliver services and system deployments, including implementing changes and setting up UNIX infrastructure in APAC (SG, HK, JP, AU)
- Install and configure UNIX/Linux physical and virtual servers (AIX/RedHat/Solaris)
- Set up and configure system-level monitoring
- Implement and validate server patching
- Support server configuration management and capacity planning/optimization
- Provide day-to-day Level 1 support and preventative maintenance on UNIX/Linux servers in APAC
IT Developer
- Possess knowledge in C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, kdb, or other functional and programming languages (big data experience is a plus)
- Technically specify, develop, test and maintain front-office trading systems for multiple trading desks, including: options market making / market fit / volatility trading, ETF market making, basket trading, auto-hedging, and warrants contribution (including monitoring tools for regulatory-related matters)
- Work closely with internal IT staff to support trading systems and day-to-day usage
- Partner with other IT and project management teams in strategic projects, collaborate with business users for system implementation and requirement gathering
- Minimize operational failures, including (but not limited to) the risk of fraud, by helping devise and implement sufficient regular controls
- Enhance resiliency, stability and usability of FAST to sustain all APAC front-office desks
- Implement IT solutions within BNPP’s technology strategy framework
- Work with external vendors, when necessary, to provide effective solutions
IT Security Analyst
- Deliver IT Security Risk activities, focusing on new and existing applications of the bank and utilizing Agile techniques within DevSecOps
- Conduct security risk assessments for new and existing applications to ensure strong risk management strategies, tools, frameworks and standards are in place
- Identify, analyze and provide recommendations on IT security risks; track corrective actions through the risk exception process
- Provide accurate and timely reports showing individual and team activities and progress
- Work closely with IT and business representatives to drive risk assessment and remediation
- Participate in audits to support compliance with the security policy and APAC country regulations
PMO
- Support project managers as part of the IT project lifecycle, including project demand review and project registration (project creation, cost simulator review, project costs input/baseline input), and coordinate required governance meetings
- Provide decision-making support to project managers, project portfolio managers, program managers and senior management
- Ensure reliable, well-commented reporting with necessary alerts and recommendations on milestones, financials and other key metrics
- Contribute to Global and APAC portfolio alignment meetings
- Contribute to the PMO community within the entity
- Support the budget exercise (e.g., consolidation of budget needs, new projects, allocation methodology)
- Support preparation of various reports and presentations (e.g., analyzing variations, budget presentations, and “Function to Métier”)
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including project managers, finance teams and senior management, to ensure alignment and effective communication
