About the Team

The Global Markets team serves financial institutions, corporates, governments, asset managers, and hedge funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in equity and fixed income securities, including currencies, interest rates, and credit in cash, derivatives, and structured products. By leveraging the strength of our intellectual capital, client relationships, and technology, we offer best-in-class products across a truly integrated, global cross-asset platform. About the Program

Being part of our Summer Internship program means you will gain first-hand experience and insights into a career in markets. You will have the opportunity to experience our culture, acquire valuable on-the-job training, and expand your network. This program is a key pipeline for our Graduate Analyst Program in Asia.

The Summer Internship program will commence in June 2027 and run for nine weeks in our Singapore office. You will be provided with orientation and induction training in the first week, typically comprising business overview sessions where you will learn more about our products and businesses, and meet with representatives across the firm.

After the induction, you will join one of the teams in Global Markets—ranging from Sales, Structuring, Trading, and Research—to provide you with a meaningful internship experience and help you develop through significant and diverse responsibilities throughout the program.

Internship Opportunities

• Sales: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with institutional clients, including pension funds, hedge funds, insurance companies, and other corporate clients.
• Trading: Assisting the trading desk in buying and selling securities on behalf of clients or the firm; market making and capital commitment.
• Structuring: Designing and developing innovative products and strategies for Nomura’s clients, in partnership with the trading function, to create a risk management strategy for structured transactions; together with Sales, creating a marketing strategy for our products.
• Research: Collecting, analyzing, and assessing industry and company information to assist research analysts in providing market insight and investment ideas for institutional investors and internal clients.
• Strategy: Shaping Nomura’s near and longer-term strategy across Nomura’s Global Markets businesses globally by working closely with senior leadership on management initiatives, including business expansion strategy, market and competitor analysis, business planning and performance reviews, and client strategy.

Eligibility

• Candidates should be in their penultimate year of study.
• Candidates must be available to commit for the entire duration of the Summer Internship (mid-June to mid-August 2027) and commence the Graduate Analyst Program in July 2028.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required; additional Asian language skills are a value-add.
