Penultimate year undergraduate or master’s student with outstanding academic achievement seeking a summer internship with the opportunity for 2028 full-time conversion. Must demonstrate a track record of superior performance in extracurricular and professional activities, with strong quantitative/analytical skills, attention to detail, and a client-focused mindset. The role requires strategic and creative thinking, distinguished written and oral communication skills, assertiveness, initiative, leadership, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team. Eligible candidates should be comfortable with change and able to adjust to changing demands and requirements. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional Asian language is highly advantageous.

The Global Capital Markets team helps companies and institutions access the debt and equity markets to raise capital to fund their business needs. The team specializes in advisory services as well as structuring and executing financing through a broad range of sophisticated equity and debt solutions.
What you’ll do
As a Summer Analyst, your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Performing comprehensive, in-depth research on companies, sectors, new issue market, general market conditions and institutional investors
- Prepare recommendations on timing, size, and structure of transactions
- Work with various teams across the firm including Investment Banking and Global Markets
- Transaction execution and preparation of related documents
- Help the team deliver solutions to clients leveraging the full spectrum of the bank's capabilities
- Develop and leverage a truly global network — learn from, and work with, teams consisting of professionals drawn from across the business, including senior bankers within your group, experts in other areas of the firm and colleagues from around the globe
- Build relationships, knowledge and experience that will open doors to a wide range of future career options and opportunities
Our Summer Analyst program is designed to offer you a broad and exciting experience of work as a full-time Capital Markets Analyst. Our Capital Markets business focuses on providing financial solutions across the capital structure, and the Summer Analyst program will offer your insight into this business. During the summer you will be placed within one of the product teams. Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training at the start of the program in addition to on-the-job support, educational speaker events, and mentorship throughout. Depending on location, Summer Analysts are either hired and placed directly with a specific team throughout the internship program or rotate through different product teams. Team placement is determined by considering business needs and the interests/skills of the Summer Analyst.
Equity Capital Markets (ECM) sits at the nexus between Sales & Trading and traditional Investment Banking. The role requires cultivating relationships not only with fee-paying corporate clients for whom we execute transactions, but also with institutional clients who buy our deals and provide feedback on market trends and appetite. The Initial Public Offering (IPO) is a seminal moment in a company’s lifecycle and a hallmark process of this ECM seat. Successful candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be highly detail-oriented.
Investment Grade Capital Markets offers insight into the capital-raising process with extensive formal training and mentorship. Summer analysts are integral members of the team and work closely with senior colleagues to gain exposure to a wide spectrum of clients, from large corporations to small-cap companies, across various financing projects including regular-way debt capital raising, acquisition financing, liability management, and capital structure advisory. The program prepares graduates for a career in capital markets through exposure to macroeconomics and their impact on capital markets, client coverage responsibilities, business development, the capital-raising process, and technical training on investment banking functions and credit markets.
Debt Advisory is a division of Global Capital Markets within the Global Corporate & Investment Bank. The team is a leader in liability management services, working with clients across the credit spectrum from A-rated Fortune 50 issuers to high yield issuers, including corporations, financial sponsors, financial institutions, governments and multilateral institutions worldwide. Situations supported include refinancing transactions, capital structure changes, mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, bond covenant modifications, and distressed situations. Debt Advisory collaborates with Investment Grade Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance and GCIB coverage teams to provide debt solutions.
Sustainable Banking Solutions provides deep expertise on ESG topics affecting clients' funding needs, valuation, and strategic decisions. We offer a full spectrum of capital markets products with coordination across Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Capital Markets partners.
Leveraged Finance helps non-investment grade clients raise debt capital, supporting scenarios such as Leveraged Buyouts (LBOs), Corporate M&A, Dividend Recapitalizations, and debt refinancing. The Leveraged Finance team collaborates with groups across GCIB to deliver client solutions.
Program Overview
The Summer Program is a 10-week program designed to provide Summer Analysts with a unique opportunity to gain exposure to life at Bank of America and make meaningful contributions to the team. The program begins with orientation and induction to the firm. Summer Analysts receive an associate-like experience, with assignments mirroring full-time responsibility, goal setting, and a formal review process. Participants gain access to the bank’s learning hub with resources ranging from banking fundamentals to communication skills. The program includes structured and on-the-job training, networking and social opportunities, speaker series with senior management, Corporate Social Responsibility projects, involvement in Opportunity and Inclusion training/events, and consideration for full-time employment upon graduation.
