Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates all AWS global infrastructure. We maintain data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual customer access to the cloud. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. We’re looking for talented people to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with teams across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers. Key Job Responsibilities

• Office hours duty in data center operations
• Capacity landing and decommissioning according to process guidelines
• Run rack-to-rack cabling, including fiber and copper cables, according to Amazon standards
• Rack cabling coordination and quality control
• Innovate and contribute from day-to-day operation experiences to improve operational efficiency
• Maintain proper media operations according to process guidelines
• Site management and maintaining tidiness in operation areas
• Assist hardware break-fix and troubleshooting according to process guidelines

A Day in the Life

You will experience a typical day as a DCO in Amazon with:

• Take ownership of technical issues, utilizing cross-team collaboration as needed to drive resolution
• Strive for operational excellence and propose improvement ideas
• Use ticketing systems to prioritize and track installations, diagnoses, and hardware or network issues
• Maintain service level agreements through rapid response to emergency issues

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ year of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
• 1+ year of computer networking experience
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of data center experience
• Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies
