Job Description

CLD is building a lean, high-impact AI & Digital team. As a Digital & AI Intern, you will work alongside technical and business colleagues to turn real business needs into working software, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled products. This is a hands-on role: you will contribute code, test ideas with users, and help move solutions from prototype towards secure, maintainable deployment.

You will gain practical exposure to enterprise platforms, data integration, governance, and modern engineering practices in a real estate development environment. Your work may span internal web applications, dashboards, workflow automation, machine learning, and generative AI.

Responsibilities

Software & AI Product Development

• Build and improve working solutions: design, prototype, and develop AI and digital products that address clearly defined business needs.
• Write maintainable code primarily in Python and, where relevant, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, or approved low-code tools.
• Develop AI and LLM capabilities such as retrieval-augmented generation, prompt workflows, evaluations, and appropriate guardrails under the team's guidance.
• Explore and analyse data: prepare structured and unstructured data and support model development, evaluation, and performance improvement where relevant.

Enterprise Platform, Data & Integration

• Support end-to-end delivery from requirements and solution design through development, integration, testing, deployment, and iteration.
• Work with enterprise data and APIs to connect approved data sources, applications, and internal workflows with support from the relevant platform teams.
• Build dashboards and automation using tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, Azure services, and other approved technologies.
• Improve solution performance by helping to investigate reliability, latency, logging, monitoring, and cost considerations.

Engineering Quality & Governance

• Apply sound engineering practices including version control, branching, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, and clear technical documentation.
• Build securely and responsibly by following the Company’s requirements for secure development, data classification, privacy, access control, and approved technology use.
• Support governance reviews by preparing architecture diagrams, technical documentation, testing evidence, and risk information for project and CLI Architecture Review Board (ARB) submissions.
• Evaluate technology options by researching tools, platforms, and APIs and contributing evidence to build-vs-buy-vs-leverage assessments.

Collaboration & Builder Enablement

• Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, prototypes, and practical technical tasks with business analysts and stakeholders.
• Work across teams with AI & Digital colleagues, the Digital & Technology Team, data owners, users, and external partners where required.
• Enable internal builders by creating reusable examples, guides, and components and supporting governed experimentation and knowledge-sharing activities.
• Communicate clearly by sharing progress, findings, risks, and recommendations in concise business-oriented language.

Qualifications

Essential

• Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on programming experience in Python, gained through coursework, personal projects, internships, competitions, or work experience.
• Basic understanding of software development concepts such as APIs, databases, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Knowledge of, or project experience in, at least one of the following: data analytics, machine learning, generative AI, LLM applications, automation, or web application development.
• Curious and structured problem-solver who can learn quickly, take ownership of assigned work, and seek guidance appropriately.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Highly Preferred

• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, modern web frameworks, REST APIs, or cloud-native application development.
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, or other modern software engineering practices.
• Exposure to Azure, Databricks, Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Foundry, or Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Experience with LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation, model evaluation, data pipelines, or analytics visualization.
• Interest in enterprise digital transformation, real estate development, and the responsible adoption of AI.
