Role Summary

Department: Contracts and Settlements. This department is one of several support functions that enables EDF Trading to tightly control its commercial activities and process a large number of transactions with a wide variety of counterparts.

The department acts as an enabler for the commercial side of the business while ensuring effective processes and controls are in place to mitigate operational risk and potential loss—whether financial (actual or lost opportunity) or reputational.

Position Purpose: Responsible for the invoicing and settlement of physical and financial products across multiple commodities. This requires efficient, timely, and accurate processing of settlements, along with the ability to handle queries from both internal and external customers.

Main Responsibilities

• Invoicing all standard physical OTC trades in the invoicing system within contractual timelines.
• Verification of inbound counterparty invoices and netting statements.
• Processing netting statements for physical and financial OTC settlements.
• Following up on invoicing discrepancies with counterparts in line with established procedures.
• Liaising with relevant Back Office teams regarding late or misallocated payments from counterparts.
• Managing Brokerage Settlement.
• Managing FX Settlement.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.

Requirements and Person Specification

Experience Required

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an Operations function within the Financial sector, with a proven track record of performing time-critical operations.
• Must be a self-starter, a logical thinker, and a quick learner, possessing strong initiative and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills and Attributes

• Numerate with a strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high standards of accuracy.
• A team player confident in building strong working relationships.
• Ability to follow procedures, identify problems, and follow through on resolutions.
• Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate messages clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Motivated by daily operational processes and the opportunity to develop and refine those processes, reducing risk and improving efficiency.

Working Hours

Hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
