The D. E. Shaw group seeks a motivated and analytical individual to join its Human Capital Product Management team as a Product Operations Associate. The team is responsible for optimizing technology platforms that enable the firm’s recruiting and employee support processes, providing a collaborative and engaging environment for professional growth. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple human capital systems, supporting both operational and product initiatives, with a pathway to grow into a product management role.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with product managers and developers to troubleshoot user issues, coordinate system changes, and provide operational support.
• Administer permissions and manage user access across interconnected human capital systems, applying sound judgment to ensure appropriate configurations.
• Take ownership of small-scale product management projects, including scoping, defining requirements, testing, and rolling out new features with guidance from senior team members.
• Contribute to system configuration work, support larger roadmap initiatives, and engage with stakeholders to understand user needs and recommend solutions.
• Conduct data cleanups and audits to maintain high standards of data quality and support scalable system design.
• Build a foundational view of the proprietary systems and third-party products that make up our human capital systems landscape.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to think critically about system configurations and troubleshoot user requests.
• Adaptability and learning agility when working with unfamiliar systems and processes.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to track work to completion.
• Proactive approach, eagerness to drive projects forward independently, and genuine interest in both operational and product management work.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected annual base salary for this position is $75,000 to $90,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, overtime for all hours worked over 40 per week, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
