Data Center Technician

Overview

As a Microsoft Data Center Technician (DCT), you will develop a strong understanding of standard processes for preparing, installing, performing diagnostics on, troubleshooting, replacing, and/or decommissioning equipment, all under the guidance of experienced Data Center colleagues. Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

As a DCT, your responsibilities include:

• Contributes to issue tracking through escalations, asking questions, and seeking guidance from more experienced technicians for timely issue resolution.
• Participates in daily safety briefings and completes required training aligned with the role and workload, complying with all safety procedures (e.g., equipment use, lifting, electrical hazards, ladder/rolling stair use).
• Completes assigned tickets efficiently and in alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while meeting established Service Level Agreements (SLAs), with guidance from other technicians.
• Complies with security and data management procedures and policies with guidance from other technicians and completes required security training.
• Maintains a strong client focus to understand the impact of their work when completing tickets and assigned tasks.
• Contributes to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information, participating in regular team meetings, asking questions, and staying apprised of the status of others' work.
• Demonstrates pride and accountability for the service quality, completeness, and ownership of the data center facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

We also look for candidates with the following:

• 1+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Applicable certifications, such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), or Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).

Minimum Requirements

• Completed High/Secondary School, GED, an apprenticeship/vocational qualification, or equivalent experience and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.

Security & Citizenship Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is mandatory for this role. This includes:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hiring/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of Singaporean Citizenship OR Permanent Residency (PR) due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Applicants must provide a valid passport to verify their Citizenship OR PR status.
