Team Overview

The International Consultant Relations team is part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Global Sales force. The team is responsible for ensuring that investment consultants understand, rate and recommend MSIM’s strategies, while partnering with sales colleagues and investment teams to convert those relationships into business opportunities.

The role involves strong collaboration across the team, as well as a high degree of independence, particularly because client-facing team members frequently travel.

Internship Details

The Off-cycle Internship provides an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere of the Investment Management Division while taking on some of the responsibilities and functions of a full-time Analyst for a defined period.

• Start date: January 2027
• Duration: Typically six months

This internship offers an exciting and dynamic work environment where you will work alongside a diverse group of experienced professionals on interesting and varied assignments.

Training Program

You will receive on-the-job training and benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain consultant records, sales pipelines and marketing distribution lists.
• Liaise with internal business units to ensure marketing, operational, legal and reporting needs are met.
• Support responses to external queries involving data, Excel templates, fund information and due diligence reports.
• Support client-facing team members with preparation before and follow-up after meetings.
• Assist with market mapping and research across the asset management landscape.
• Lead project-based tasks to enhance the Consultant Relations team’s processes and performance.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Excellent academic background; applicants must have graduated from university or be able to take time away from their studies to commit to a full-time, six-month internship.
• Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A keen interest in investment management and sales.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to work comfortably with large data sets.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently and effectively.
• A track record of being proactive, self-motivated and goal-oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues across the team, MSIM and the broader organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce is a plus.
