Advisory Intern

KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Intern for our Advisory practice.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and recommend improvements to construction management processes and internal controls.
• Support construction contract reviews, project oversight, and monitoring functions for large capital projects.
• Define and implement recommendations concerning construction management policies, procedures, processes, internal controls, roles, responsibilities, reporting, and supporting information technology.
• Conduct project reviews to evaluate percentage of completion, probability of recovery for change orders and claims, reasonableness of the estimate to complete construction, schedule delays, defective specifications, and loss of productivity.
• Work with engagement teams to perform fieldwork, including data collection, analysis, and work paper documentation; prepare, edit, and proofread narrative reports and presentations of observations and recommendations; work closely, but independently, under the guidance of Directors and Partners.
• Perform analysis using Excel, PowerPoint, and other data visualization tools to produce client deliverables, reports, and dashboards.
• The internship concludes with a case study presentation to partners on the services and solutions learned throughout the internship.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree or major in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or another relevant field.
• Must have a current or most recent GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Possess strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills, with a demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to leverage common business technologies, including MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel) and AI, and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications used by clients.
• Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client locations as needed.
• Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need. If working remotely, you must be located within the U.S. Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. California Salary Range: $78,000 - $100,000
