Associate, Financial Crimes
KPMG Advisory helps organizations navigate transformation and changing market conditions through collaborative teams, professional development, training, and innovative tools. KPMG is seeking an Associate, Financial Crimes to join its Advisory Services practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist financial institutions with financial crimes matters, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions requirements, across all three lines of defense.
- Support Financial Crimes leaders in the financial services industry with analytical and technology-related tasks involving BSA/AML, fraud, and sanctions.
- Provide support for financial services and financial crimes compliance initiatives at the direction of National Financial Crimes leadership.
- Assist in developing and implementing innovative compliance solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial crime prevention efforts.
- Help management identify and manage engagement risks for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support engagement decisions, including work plans, timelines, budgets, project management, and resource allocation.
- Participate in projects that enhance compliance programs by leveraging data analytics and advanced technologies to mitigate risk and improve processes.
- Conduct data analytics to test and validate financial crime systems.
- Help design and build assets that leverage advanced analytical tools, including intelligent automation, for anti-financial-crimes processes.
- Support clients with technical risk and control reviews, ensuring compliance projects are executed accurately and in accordance with current regulatory requirements and expectations.
Qualifications
- At least one year of recent experience in financial crimes compliance, including AML, OFAC, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), or anti-fraud; corporate intelligence; or due diligence within the financial or professional services industries and/or relevant banking or securities regulatory agencies.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration or a related field.
- Understanding of common money laundering schemes and the AML and sanctions legal and regulatory environment, including laws, regulations, and guidance under the BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC.
- Knowledge of data analysis or database technologies such as SQL, R, Python, or similar tools.
- Preferred experience examining, assessing, or enhancing aspects of a financial crimes compliance program, such as performing internal audits or compliance testing reviews and remediating identified deficiencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to meet the needs of the team and business.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity.
Compensation and Benefits
KPMG offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including medical and dental plans, vision coverage, disability and life insurance, 401(k) plans, and personal well-being benefits. Eligible employees may also receive paid time off and company holidays, including two annual breaks during which employees are not required to use paid time off.
California salary range: $73,150–$129,490
Salary offers are determined by factors including skills, job responsibilities, relevant experience, degrees, certifications, and market considerations. Salary ranges for cities outside California are available through the KPMG pay transparency page.
