Equity Research Internship

The Equity Research Internship is a 10-week program where research interns work alongside research associates and analysts. Interns provide differentiated analysis and value-added insight regarding publicly traded companies and industry trends for institutional clients. Interns are part of small teams with significant responsibility in contributing to published research and work with financial modeling and proprietary research techniques.

Responsibilities

Interns will support Research Associates and Analysts in:

• Making actionable calls and producing research for Davidson’s institutional clients.
• Researching market and industry trends and company specifics to become an expert in the assigned sector.
• Creating, maintaining, and updating data in financial models, and generating tables and graphs that clearly illustrate information.

Internship Learning Opportunities

In this internship, you will gain experience necessary to:

• Formulate and issue opinions and recommendations on securities and companies within one or more industry groups.
• Prepare reports and statistical data for dissemination to firm clients and the investing public.
• Answer inquiries from customers, firm personnel, and the general public regarding individual securities or industry groups.
• Discuss research findings with Sales & Trading associates and institutional clients, such as analysts and portfolio managers at top mutual funds and hedge funds.

Qualifications

Education:

• Majors in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or similar fields.
• Minimum 3.5 GPA.
• Junior in College.

Skills and Attributes:

• Bright, mature, and motivated with a desire to excel and the ability to adapt in an intellectually challenging environment.
• Passionate about capital markets and a desire to become highly skilled in equity research.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work well on a self-directed basis.
• Proficient communication and presentation skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
