Position
KPMG is currently seeking a Technology Assurance Associate to join our Audit and Assurance team.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team conducting IT audits and serving capital markets by helping ensure the accuracy and reliability of client financial information while upholding objectivity, independence, and professional integrity.
- Prepare clear, well-structured documentation of client processes and information technology (IT) systems, including identified IT risks and the controls designed to mitigate them, primarily for financial services clients.
- Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Evaluate client IT and business processes, risks, controls, and compliance requirements against leading practices and relevant frameworks to identify design and execution gaps and inform recommendations.
- Execute and document testing of IT and automated controls, including IT security, programming, and governance controls, with clear descriptions of procedures performed and results.
- Support data-driven audits by using technologies and data analysis tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), bots, dashboards, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, and Power BI.
- Support system implementation, digital transformation reviews, and project management activities, including:
- Assessing control design and operating effectiveness.
- Evaluating data migration completeness and accuracy.
- Tracking project status and deliverables.
- Coordinating action items.
- Communicating findings to engagement teams and client personnel.
- Building strong working relationships.
Qualifications
- Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date, or have completed within the past 12 months, a bachelor's degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, Information Systems with an Accounting double major, or an equivalent program from an accredited college or university. An Information Systems degree with an Accounting double major is preferred.
- Preference for candidates pursuing the minimum educational requirements for CPA licensure in the principal place of business where the position is located before beginning full-time employment, or candidates pursuing a CISA certification.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday is preferred.
- Ability to use common business technologies, including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, AI, and data analysis tools, and quickly learn KPMG tools and client applications.
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical-thinking, and agility skills, with the ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality work in a professional services environment.
Work Requirements
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance of the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using personal transportation or public transportation.
- Technology Assurance professionals are expected to work in person at a KPMG office or client site an average of three days per week.
- Some client-site assignments may require travel and overnight or extended stays, depending on the office and client requirements.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity, including H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT, or any other employment-based visa.
