Technology Assurance Intern
KPMG is currently seeking a Technology Assurance Intern to join our Audit and Assurance team.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to play an integral role in conducting IT audits and serving the capital markets by helping ensure the accuracy and reliability of client financial information while upholding principles of objectivity and independence.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of client operations while maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity.
- Learn to prepare clear and well-structured documentation regarding the understanding of client processes and Information Technology (IT) systems.
- With appropriate guidance, execute and document testing of client IT controls using appropriate standards and terminology.
- Support the data-driven audit by utilizing a range of technologies and data analysis tools, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), BOTs, Dashboards, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, and Power BI.
- With appropriate guidance, utilize technology, systems, tools, and innovations to support engagement activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, or an equivalent program.
- Information Systems with an Accounting double major is preferred.
- Must have sufficient academic credits to complete before obtaining the degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements upon completion of the internship.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong technical skills, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility. Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity.
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using personal vehicle or public transportation.
- Technology Assurance professionals are expected to work in-person at a KPMG office or client site, averaging three days per week; some client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stays (varies by office).
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employment-based visa sponsorship. KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday.
- Ability to leverage common business technologies (including MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel, AI, and data analysis) and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications.
