Job Description
RBC's Institutional Client Credit Management (ICCM) Asset Management & Funds team is seeking an Analyst to assist in the management and administration of authorized credit and transactional risk limits for various asset manager and fund relationships. This role involves maintaining relationships with RBC Capital Markets (CM) trading professionals and counterparties to ensure timely fulfillment of client trading needs, including addressing credit requirements. The Analyst is directly responsible for preparing credit submissions while coordinating the onboarding workflow across KYC, tax, regulatory, operational, and legal aspects, as well as necessary trading documentation (ISDA VM CSA, GMRA, etc.). You will assist in preparing transaction requests while safeguarding the credit quality of the trading portfolio, ensuring all limit systems are properly recorded, and helping to prepare timely management information reports.
What You Will Do
- Timely preparation of transaction requests in support of RBC Capital Markets trading activities with global asset managers on behalf of the funds they manage.
- Understand and assess client investment strategies from a risk perspective.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of trading limit data within CCMS.
- Review trading counterparties (including, but not limited to, regulated mutual funds, pension funds, trusts and endowments, alternative accounts, hedge funds, and private capital accounts).
- Instruct and coordinate client set-up requirements across KYC, tax, regulatory, operational, and legal teams.
- Manage compliance, including managing limit excesses and supporting ATE triggers, and NAV monitoring where necessary.
- Assist in annual reviews for Capital Markets relationships.
- Complete assigned projects and other duties efficiently and effectively to support business initiatives.
- Initiate and maintain contact with trading professionals, Group Risk Management – Credit, Market Risk, Trading Credit Risk, Trading Documentation, and RBC Law Group.
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Skills
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of fund industry and securities regulations governing funds.
- Basic understanding of trading products, including FX, swaps, and securities finance.
- Advanced data and computer management skills, including proficiency with Excel.
- Ability to establish priorities and manage tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret, explain, and communicate opinions and recommendations using strong verbal and written skills.
Required Education
- Minimum: Honors degree in B.A., B.Comm., B.Sc., or equivalent.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- MBA, professional designation (e.g., CA, CMA, CFA), or a post-graduate degree focused on finance, economics, or a quantitative discipline.
- Understanding of credit risks associated with institutional clients, including investment funds, and the trading products they utilize.
- Ability to read and understand complex legal documents such as Private Placement Memoranda (PPMs), Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs), and structure charts.
- Experience with AI models and agents, including their application in automation, data analysis, and process optimization to drive efficiency and enhance decision-making.
