Senior Investments Management Intern

Zurich Alternative Asset Management, LLC (ZAAM), a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich Insurance Group, is seeking a Senior Investments Management Intern to join its New York, NY team for Summer 2027. ZAAM manages approximately USD 6 billion in assets across hedge funds, private equity, and real estate investments for Zurich affiliates worldwide.

The Role

This internship is for a duration of approximately three months starting in Summer 2027, with the possibility of extension during the school year or the following summer, depending on business needs.

The Investment Management Intern will contribute to the ongoing work of the hedge fund, private equity, and real estate teams. You will work directly with members of the ZAAM team, gaining exposure to all three asset classes (PE, HF, RE), though you will be assigned to focus on one or two specific areas with project work and support.

What You Will Learn

  • Market and industry research related to hedge funds, private equity, or real estate.
  • Due diligence analysis for hedge funds, private equity, or real estate.
  • High-level functional roles related to Asset Management processes and procedures.
  • Experience with Alternative Asset systems, such as Yardi, Allocator, Burgiss, Dynamo, and various Data Analysis tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.

Qualifications and Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an advanced degree program (MBA, MS, or Ph.D.) or will be enrolled by the fall of 2027.
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. indefinitely.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently pursuing an advanced degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant STEM areas.
  • Completed coursework in finance, accounting, statistics, and/or investments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience summarizing and presenting information clearly and engagingly.
  • Quantitative or programming background.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and professional maturity.
  • Adherence to confidentiality when handling sensitive materials.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently to support project and team goals.
  • Problem-solving skills, including identifying issues and offering tangible solutions.
  • Familiarity with private equity, hedge fund, and real estate concepts.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay at Zurich is determined by role, location, skills, and experience, adhering to local laws for fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The hourly range for this national average position is $64.50, though we encourage candidates to apply even if expectations are outside this range.
