2027 Investment Banking Summer Associate

Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking delivers a comprehensive suite of banking and financial solutions to over 15,000 corporate and institutional clients, including over 70% of the S&P 500. We provide corporate and transaction banking, commercial real estate lending and servicing, and equity and fixed income solutions—including sales, trading, and research—to corporate and institutional clients.

The 10-week Summer Associate Program is designed for MBA students between their first and second year. You will be aligned to a product or industry group and contribute to active client engagements from the outset. The program includes immersive training, project-based learning, senior leader engagement, and networking opportunities across business lines.

You will be part of a team that supports clients through strategic transactions and capital raising. From day one, you will contribute to live projects, build relationships across teams, and support work that helps clients achieve their strategic objectives in today’s dynamic environment.

What to Expect

Over the 10-week program, you will gain exposure to the work performed across investment banking teams while building the technical and professional skills required to succeed in the industry.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

• Building valuation models and supporting transaction execution
• Conducting company and industry research
• Preparing client materials and pitch presentations
• Participating in diligence sessions, client meetings, and internal discussions
• Collaborating with senior bankers on engagements across sectors and geographies
• Contributing to analyses and deliverables that support client engagements

Throughout the program, you will receive coaching, mentorship, and ongoing feedback while building the skills required for a career in investment banking.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of investment banking program experience or equivalent, demonstrated through work, military service, training, or education

Desired Qualifications

• MBA with an expected graduation date of December 2027 to June 2028
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to operate effectively both independently and in teams
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) skills
• Track record of leadership or involvement in professional or academic initiatives

Licensing Requirements

• FINRA registration for SIE, Series 63 (or 66), and Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire if not already held. Recognized equivalents will be accepted.

Program Locations

Positions are available in New York and Charlotte, with limited opportunities in Houston, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

Pay Range

Base pay range offered for this position:

• NC (Charlotte): $175,000 yearly
• NY (New York City): $175,000 yearly
• TX (Houston): $175,000 yearly
• IL (Chicago): $175,000 yearly
• Washington, D.C.: $175,000 yearly

Pay may vary depending on factors including demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

FINRA/Associated Person (AP)

This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
