About the Role
The Columbia Threadneedle Investments Internship program is designed to provide first-hand investment management experience. You will support portfolio management and investment research, contributing directly to the investment process. You’ll work with an experienced team of portfolio managers and/or analysts who will provide mentorship and opportunities for shadowing.
How you’ll spend your time...
- Work as part of a collaborative team of experienced portfolio managers and research analysts to support the management of an equity portfolio focused on small- and mid-cap companies.
- Participate in 2–3 week rotational projects, gaining exposure to different aspects of the investment process.
- Contribute to the development of investment theses and stock pitches through qualitative and quantitative research.
- Assist in preparing investment reports, updating financial models, and conducting ongoing company and industry analysis.
- Present a final stock pitch to the firm at the end of the summer, with coaching and guidance provided throughout the internship.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
- Passionate about the investment management industry and dedicated to being a part of a successful team.

In-Office Collaboration
We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together in-person is foundational to how we achieve results. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated hourly rate for this role is $32.75 per hour. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
