Purpose of the Role
Support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources division by providing insights and expertise to help more senior colleagues make informed decisions. Also support the development of new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.
Accountabilities
- Execute small research projects to support strategic decision-making; prepare presentations and reports to communicate research findings; collaborate with relevant leaders to implement research findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support the deployment and launch of new products and services for Human Resources.
- Manage client relationships and provide customer service support, including responding to questions about products and services, processing transactions, and resolving customer complaints.
- Manage the development and implementation of financial models and strategies to support decision-making for Human Resources.
- Develop HR insights, colleague journeys within the function’s remit, and HR services and measures, while building an understanding of Barclays and its businesses.

Early Careers Recruitment Specialist (Human Resources) — Industrial Placement
We are looking for an eager Early Careers Recruitment Specialist to join our team on a 9–11 month Industrial Placement in August 2027.
Why the Human Resources Industrial Placement Programme?
In this role, you will learn to own end-to-end campus recruiting responsibilities, including managing stakeholder relationships and building effective strategies. You will gain direct exposure to clients and leaders across the Investment Bank. Some travel will be required.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute aligned regional candidate acquisition activity for Early Career channels, including (but not limited to) Interns, Graduates, and Apprentices, specifically as it relates to events and assessment strategies.
- Partner with the business and work in conjunction with Early Career Planning teams; agree and attend a calendar of events associated with attraction to all Early Career channels, including campus recruitment events and school events.
- Execute attraction and assessment efforts aligned to both firm goals and individual pathway goals.
- Partner with stakeholders to deliver the agreed recruitment strategy and engage them in recruitment efforts.
- Deliver an effective candidate attraction strategy derived from data analysis and deep knowledge of universities and organisations.
- Execute assessment processes that achieve firm goals while enabling Early Career channels to source effectively for individualised programming.
Eligibility
- Be in your penultimate year of university.
- Graduate in 2028.
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
