Placement Analyst — UK Corporate Broking

Citi is looking for Placement Analysts to join the UK Corporate Broking team in London, starting February 2027.

Corporate Broking is a core part of Citi’s UK Investment Banking franchise, at the heart of Citi’s coverage of blue-chip clients, focusing primarily on FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies. The role is unique within investment banking: it combines corporate finance skills with a strong understanding of global equity markets and what drives them.

Work is fast-paced and varied, including keeping clients informed on developments driving their share prices, advising on raising funds in the capital markets, and executing IPOs and/or Mergers & Acquisitions. The team’s competitive edge is building trusted relationships with clients at the Board, CEO and CFO level, leveraging Citi’s global platform to help clients achieve their strategic objectives.

Placement Analyst Program

We will provide the knowledge and skills you need to succeed. During the 6-month placement analyst program (starting February 2027), you will be assigned to the UK Corporate Broking team. Successful placement analysts will be considered for a full-time position after graduation.

What You’ll Do

• Keep up to date on the latest news, developments, and trends driving equity markets using the intelligence of Citi’s global equities platform, and communicate that information to clients.
• Develop an understanding of how companies are viewed and valued by institutional investors by speaking with important mutual fund and hedge fund managers.
• Build financial models, assess valuation, and explore transaction opportunities for clients.
• Conduct research and analyze industry trends.
• Support clients in strengthening their shareholder base by conducting analysis on potential new investors.
• Participate in client development by helping build new and existing client relationships and assisting with presentations of new ideas to clients.

We’re Looking For

• You are studying for a degree that allows for a 6-month industrial placement or you have graduated.
• You are expected to achieve or have achieved a 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level in any degree discipline.
• You have an interest in business.
• You are available to start in February 2027.

• Work model: Hybrid working model with a mandatory three days in your assigned office and an optional two days from home (subject to business approval).
