Summary: Dime Commercial Bank (Dime) is currently hiring for a Training Specialist I based at its Headquarters in Hauppauge, Long Island. The Training Specialist I will facilitate training classes for retail banking teller and platform staff and demonstrate fundamental training concepts, including facilitation, instruction, and classroom management to ensure optimal learning. The role includes coaching and motivating employees to achieve strong performance, and providing developmental feedback during new hire and recurrent training. Previous banking experience and knowledge of core system applications are preferred.

Salary: Commensurate with experience, ranging from $45,000 to $56,000 annually. Exact compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, education, training, licensure and certifications, and location.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of Dime products and services to provide an overview within the class.
• Maintain current knowledge of bank regulatory requirements.
• Perform administrative functions related to training and development, such as assignments and recordkeeping.
• Schedule and coordinate training classes, create appointments, and manage follow-up for pre-training materials.
• Serve as a mentor for retail banking teller and platform staff.
• Stay up to date on procedural and process changes, ensuring related training materials and programs are updated as changes occur.
• Assist with the development and implementation of new training classes.
• Follow up with managers/mentors/buddies and new hires to evaluate individual training and ensure position requirements are met, repeating training as necessary.
• Evaluate and identify opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of training programs, and facilitate targeted learning where needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of retail banking experience preferred.
• Cash-handling experience preferred.
• Core retail banking applications knowledge preferred.
• Ability to travel to training locations (Hauppauge and Rockville Centre) and to various branches as needed.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
