Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support in origination, structuring and execution of Asset Backed Securities (ABS and Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS)) programmes in which ASec has a leading role, including balance sheet funded deals and public capital markets securitisation transactions.
  • Work closely with the Bond Syndicate in the execution of fast-paced public capital markets securitisation transactions.
  • Assist in preparing credit memos and analysing quantitative and qualitative aspects of transactions ING is involved in, including understanding and applying ABS/RMBS rating agency methodologies and cashflow modelling of ABS transactions.
  • As ING’s securitisation “centre of excellence”, continuously stay at the forefront of relevant market developments, such as the exploration of new asset classes.
  • While engaging in deal activity, build exposure to a strong network of issuers and investors active in (structured) financial asset products.
  • Monitor developments in Asia Pacific and European securitisation capital markets and advise clients (including ING) in a timely manner on opportunities and activities, keeping a close watch on developments, appetite and trends.
  • Act as first line of defence for credit and market risk in matters concerning ASec’s asset portfolio of ABS/RMBS/Covered Loans/Warehouses/Swaps.

Your Profile

  • Currently undertaking an undergraduate degree, preferably in mathematics, (business) economics, or econometrics, and ideally with some experience in (wholesale) banking.
  • Strong affinity with banking, regulations and financial products.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex information in a broader context.
  • Strong ability to manage deadlines and deliver on expectations while working within a global team covering all time zones.
  • Enjoy working in a diverse environment where priorities shift multiple times per day across balance sheet management, balance sheet funding, bond issuance and hedging activities.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and an open mind to work on new concepts.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English, both verbal and written.

Internship Details

This is a six-month full-time internship position starting from January 2027.
