What You Can Expect

The Jefferies Private Fund Advisory (PFA) team focuses on raising capital and providing strategic advice to private markets firms. Analysts play a critical role within the PFA team, contributing to all aspects of the business.

You will work closely with a global client base of leading private equity managers and institutional investors, including pensions, insurance firms, banks, government and sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and asset managers. The role offers experience across a broad range of private markets strategies, including private equity, credit, and infrastructure (across funds, co-investments, and direct deals), and sectors such as healthcare, renewable energy, industrials, consumer, technology, and life insurance.

Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Client interaction: speaking regularly with leading fund managers
  • Qualitative writing: contributing to due diligence reports and investment memorandums
  • Financial analysis: performing quantitative analysis of fund cash flows and valuations
  • Organisation: coordinating capital-raising projects, managing data rooms, tracking investor outreach, and related activities
  • Presentation: preparing pitch materials and investor presentations
  • Market research: conducting industry research to identify trends, benchmark funds, and assess competitive landscapes

What We Look For in a Candidate

We seek candidates eager to make an impact through real, hands-on work and participation on active deal teams. Successful Jefferies Summer Interns are able to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills, along with strong technical, written, and verbal communication abilities. The work is fast-paced, challenging, and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, remain adaptable, and work independently and as part of a team are essential.

You should have a strong academic background and be in your penultimate year of study, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring/Summer 2028. While accounting or finance can be helpful, Jefferies hires Summer Interns who have studied a variety of degree disciplines.
