Business technologists enable Jefferies’ sales, trading, research, and banking colleagues to solve problems and seize opportunities with more speed and precision. The team deploys and manages the technology that keeps Jefferies running and colleagues connected, and develops applications and tools to serve Jefferies’ clients. It also enhances business outcomes with AI and machine learning tools that uncover actionable insights from millions of data points from around the world.

Desired Background and Skills

• Strong academic background and currently in your penultimate year of study, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, with a graduation date of 2028.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly while collaborating in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Motivation and desire to pursue a technology-based career in Financial Services upon graduation.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of Financial and Accounting fundamentals.

Technical Skills

• Programming knowledge is desirable, including exposure to: MATLAB, KDB, SQL, C++, Java, Visual Basic, C#, .NET, Python, pandas, Angular, TypeScript, and React.
• Bloomberg API knowledge is a plus.
• Database knowledge is desirable, including Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, and data warehouses such as Snowflake.
• Ability to build intermediate to advanced SQL queries.
• Bonus: additional technology exposure such as AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3).
• Atlassian Suite or similar tools (e.g., JIRA, Bitbucket, Bamboo CI/CD).
• API/platform integrations.
• Familiarity with basic concepts in AI/ML and GenAI.
