Summary

Guardian Glass is seeking a Process Technician in Geneva, NY. The selected candidate will partner with the fabrication team to improve coater equipment performance and reliability. The role requires comfort working in hot and cold environments, supporting night and weekend shifts when needed, and developing the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will collaborate with the asset care, operations, process engineering, and maintenance teams to strengthen PBM culture.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Assist with equipment installs and testing of new and existing equipment.
• Execute work plans for coater equipment readiness, including vent-drive system builds, sand blasting, end block and lid overhauls.
• Engage in detail-oriented tasks and scheduled production downtime activities (vent, planned downtime, and development).
• Learn the fundamentals of the coater and understand the function of the role.
• Review failure modes, shift reports, and participate in root cause analysis sessions to drive coater uptime improvements.
• Aid operations with event recovery and provide training in areas of expertise.
• Work in non-controlled temperature environments and in extreme heat; potential to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Support weekday day shift and provide on-site or phone assistance as directed by the supervisor.
• Perform other functions as needed.

Shift & Compensation

Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM (day shift), with potential up to 12 hours if needed. Holidays, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required.

Pay: $24–$32 per hour

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Use of computer-based work tracking system
• Mechanical systems knowledge
• Fabrication experience; mechanical background with standard and metric tools
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools; able to read mechanical prints

What Will Put You Ahead

• Knowledge of thin-film coating and/or vacuum systems
• Crane operation and moving suspended loads
• Equipment ownership of area; experience training and sharing knowledge
• Reading metric measurements
