About the Role
As our Bunker Procurement Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with a diverse, global team, including freight traders and seasoned operations professionals. Under the mentorship of the Senior Bunker Procurement Coordinator, you will develop skills in bunker fuel management, market analysis, contract negotiation, and post-bunkering operations.
What You Will Do
- Learn about different grades of bunkers (fuel oil, gasoil, LNG) and their pricing mechanisms.
- Understand port-specific bunkering requirements.
- Analyze paper markets and their impacts on physical bunker markets.
- Negotiate, execute, and follow up on bunker orders.
- Review General Terms and Conditions of contracts.
- Manage post-bunkering activities, including invoicing settlement.
- Resolve claims and disputes tactfully and professionally.
- Take ownership of bunker planning portfolios in collaboration with stakeholders (freight traders, vessel operators).
- Ensure smooth and efficient bunkering operations to optimize profits.
- Independently negotiate and finalize bunker contracts with legal and counterparties.
- Conduct market dynamics and trend analyses to refine bunker planning.
- Monitor the impact of new marine bunker legislation and specifications and provide insights to stakeholders.
- Source and evaluate new bunker suppliers and traders, and manage ongoing relationships.
- Identify value improvement opportunities and lead bunker-related improvement projects with stakeholders.

- Intellectual curiosity and passion for the maritime fuel and trading industry.
- Excellent prioritization and time management abilities, with the capability to work under tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.

- Previous exposure or interest in maritime operations, fuel markets, or commodity trading.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
- Experience or familiarity with negotiation and contract review.
