About the Position
You’ll gain a real sense of what it’s like to work at Jane Street full time while also receiving a strong educational experience. As an intern, you’ll be paired with full-time employees who serve as mentors and collaborate with you on real-world projects the firm needs.
As a procurement intern, you’ll work side-by-side with full-time employees to learn how the firm procures goods and services on a global basis. You’ll see how we develop and execute requests for proposal (RFPs), negotiate with vendors, level disparate quotes, manage inventory, raise purchase orders, handle global logistics, and analyze spend data.
Your internship project may focus on identifying and implementing ways to improve efficiency in internal processes or supporting efforts to plan and research sourcing. Mentors come from different areas of the team, helping you understand the planning, execution, and problem-solving required both before and after purchasing. Your daily project work will be complemented by lunch seminars, real-time desk discussions, and classes that provide broader fundamentals of Jane Street’s business and how your work fits into the bigger picture.
