Underwriting Analyst

Job Summary

This position provides support to the underwriting activities for the General Property portfolio.

Essential Job Functions

• Enter new submissions and update the Submission register.
• Assist underwriters with renewal preparation, including preparing premium and loss exhibits.
• Assist underwriters in obtaining D&B reports, preparing catastrophe analysis, and preparing quotation letters.
• Prepare insurance binders and reinsurance layoff sheets to book and bill new and renewal accounts.
• Set up new and renewal account files upon binding accounts.
• Prepare policies and endorsements for underwriter review.
• Follow up on information needed from brokers.
• Maintain reports as required by underwriters.
• Perform premium entry and reconciliation.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of related experience preferred (Insurance Internships will be considered).
• Administrative/clerical experience in an underwriting environment is ideal.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
• Strong computer skills, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
