Manufacturing Excellence

Safety and Quality

• Upholds safety and quality excellence when making operational decisions that optimize supply chain and financial targets.

Operations Support

• Supports and provides guidance to shift personnel to deliver excellent operational results in a highly regulated, fast-paced API production facility.
• Assists the Senior Manager, Operations in all aspects of production activities and provides technical support related to equipment and facilities.

Supply & Cost

• Supports the plan, schedule, and coordination of maintenance activities with the maintenance team and IPT planner, with support from other engineers and the Senior Manager. Supports activities that interfere with production to reduce downtime.
• Supports all permits in the operations areas to ensure work is successfully completed.
• Serves as landlord for the facility with support from other engineers and the Senior Manager. Works with operations staff and the maintenance team to correct deficiencies in housekeeping, maintenance, and facility-related procedures.
• Manages materials and supplies storage and logistics within the facility.
• Generates and/or supports qualification and functional verification documentation for commissioning.
• Participates and/or supports equipment commissioning, including FAT/SAT.
• Generates and/or supports plant modification proposals and tracks changes to completion.
• Generates and/or supports the generation of cleaning batch sheets for product change-over and new equipment.
• Participates in cleaning development and cleaning validation activities.
• Supports PTO in technology transfers for new product introductions into the plant.
• Manages the operations supply system, including coordination with the planner/buyer and maintenance team, to ensure that material and supply inventories are maintained at appropriate inventory levels.
• Works closely with the planner/buyer for sourcing and purchasing plant consumables and accessories.
• Manages manufacturing aids, including supporting and generating necessary documentation.

Training

• Conducts training on new operations SOPs and provides on-the-job training for technicians, including cGMP, SOPs, and safety procedures as needed.
• Works closely with the learning specialist to develop training packages, including competency-based frameworks for any new or revised SOPs.

Quality / SHE Stewardship

Quality Compliance

• Participates in Proactive Process Analysis (PPA).
• Demonstrates ability to lead and/or support investigations associated with equipment, facilities, and people, with support from other engineers and the Senior Manager.
• Conducts periodic reviews of equipment qualification, SOPs, preventive maintenance activities, and calibrations.
• Supports internal, external, and corporate QA audits, including follow-up on corrective actions and preventive actions.
• Generates SOPs for plant operation in accordance with cGMP and conducts training.
• Writes technical documents for investigations and audit responses.

Safety

• Demonstrates and promotes a safe and injury-free work culture, and engages employees at all levels on SHE issues.
• Participates in HAZOP studies, FMEA, RCFA, and Industrial Hygiene-related activities.
• Participates in internal, external, and corporate safety and environmental audits, and supports follow-up on corrective actions and preventive actions.

People Excellence

• Serves as the point of contact for all aspects of production activities and technical support for production equipment and facilities.
• Participates in MPS-related activities to instill a continuous improvement mindset in the operations team.
• Leads personal career development with manager assistance through annual performance management, employee development planning, and career mapping.
• Performs specific administrative tasks as instructed by the Senior Manager, Operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology.

Experience

• Pharmaceutical experience preferred; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma methodology, and the application of Lean tools (preferred).
• For non-diploma holders, minimum 3 years of experience.
