Job Overview
Working in Accounts Payable at ASOS means collaborating with the business to deliver the company mission. Accounts Payable Assistants play a key role within the Finance department.
ASOS Finance is responsible for building and protecting business value. As a team, Accounts Payable supports ASOS by:
- Implementing brilliant processes and controls, leveraging lean, automation, and data science

- Building a leading team and defining new ways of doing finance

The Role
Invoicing
- Process invoices by matching receipted purchase orders with supplier invoices
- Ensure vendors follow ASOS invoice policy
- Review and clear down unapproved invoices
Payments
- Prepare weekly multi-currency payment runs
- Ensure prompt payment for all suppliers, with an aim of 100% paid on time
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain and cultivate internal and external stakeholder relationships
Liabilities
- Review accounts with debit balances and request refunds where appropriate via email and telephone calls
- Review and investigate unallocated payments
Reconciliations
- Carry out reconciliations for key supplier accounts on a regular rotational basis to keep accounts up to date and provide management visibility of any pending issues
- Review and clear aged Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI)
Process Optimisation
- Ensure master data is up to date and that any changes are requested in line with company fraud policy
- Archive inactive accounts
- Investigate vendors with a low POT% and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to increase paid on time
- Investigate vendors with a low auto-match rate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to increase auto-match rate
Strategic Influence
- Influence immediate internal stakeholders to generate positive outcomes
General Technical Expertise
- Business partnering experience
- Intermediate skills in Excel
- Ability to identify insightful observations from detailed information for management attention
- Proven ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines, and to take initiative
Communication & Relationship Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Ability to collaborate and work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to rapid change
Working Pattern

Qualifications
About You
- Experience on a global scale (desirable) dealing with purchase orders and high-volume invoicing
- Ideally experience within the retail sector
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in ERP systems and accounting software
- Experience using Dynamics 365 is desirable
- Ability to adapt to change and drive process improvement initiatives
- Works well under pressure
- Can-do, positive attitude and a team player
