Overview of Project INmersABILITY

The (Re)insurance industry is evolving to become more inclusive, redefining what talent looks like for the future. In 2025, SCOR led the way by establishing the (Re)Insurance Industry Alliance. This founding committee—comprising employees from SCOR, Howden, and Charles Taylor—was created to reshape workforce strategies and foster a more equitable and diverse talent pipeline.

Building on the success of the 2025 pilot initiative, Project INmersABILITY 2026/27 has been revamped and includes a new partner, Allianz. The programme is designed as a 12-month journey to support and develop talent from Singapore’s disability community through a structured and progressive learning experience.

Participants build confidence, deepen their understanding of the market, and develop a strategic perspective over time through immersive work placements across the (re)insurance value chain, supported by hands-on experience in real business environments.

Programme Journey

The journey begins at the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI), Project INmersABILITY’s education partner, where participants build foundational knowledge of the (Re)insurance landscape through an introductory programme designed to prepare them for the industry.

• Rotation 1: Allianz — develop a strong operational foundation and gain firsthand insight into how insurance functions at a fundamental level.
• Rotation 2: Howden — deepen understanding of broking and advisory services, including how risks are assessed, structured, and placed within the market.
• Final Rotation: SCOR — consolidate learning and develop a broader strategic perspective on the role of reinsurance within the ecosystem.

By the end of the structured journey across the partner firms, participants will gain a holistic understanding of the (Re)insurance industry, supported by valuable skills, practical experience, and increased confidence to pursue careers across a range of functions. Beyond professional development, the programme also empowers participants to contribute to meaningful change by advancing disability inclusion and helping build a more diverse and inclusive future for the industry.

Official Education Partner: Singapore College of Insurance (SCI)

Established in 1974, the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) is a not-for-profit, industry-based professional education and training body dedicated to strengthening the capabilities of insurance and financial services practitioners.

SCI’s programmes span continuing professional development, competency certification, diploma qualifications, and professional designations programmes.

• Delivers practice-oriented programmes, certification courses, and professional qualifications.
• Administers key regulatory examinations for the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
• Supports industry talent development through initiatives such as the Insurance Management Associate Programme and internship programmes.
• Contributes and leads regional capability-building under the ASEAN Insurance Council/ASEAN Insurance Education Committee (AIC/AIEC) umbrella.

SCI maintains partnerships with international professional bodies, including The Chartered Insurance Institute and The American College of Financial Services. As Secretariat for the Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association, SCI further promotes collaboration between academia and industry.
