Responsibilities

Houlihan Lokey offers an off-cycle internship opportunity at its Hong Kong office that prepares interns for a full-time position. The internship provides the opportunity to work with experienced investment bankers in a stimulating environment on valuation and transaction assignments for clients across various industries.

• Gain valuable on-the-job training throughout the internship, with exposure similar to a first-year analyst.
• Work closely with senior professionals and receive direct feedback and mentorship.
• Assist lean project teams in providing valuations of illiquid debt and equity securities to credit funds, hedge funds, private equity firms, financial institutions, corporations, other investment managers, and investors.
• Update financial models, draft client deliverables, conduct market research, and present analyses and conclusions to the internal team.
• Successful completion of the internship may be considered for future full-time analyst opportunities.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Must be entering the final year of study or be a recent graduate.
• Strong academic track record with coursework in accounting and finance; studying for or having achieved a degree in accounting, economics, and/or a finance-related major.
• Fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications.
• Strong quantitative, financial, and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential; fluency in Japanese is desirable.
• Previous internship experience within Big Four valuation advisory services, investment banking, and/or related fields is essential.
• International experience is desirable, but not essential.
• Motivated, able to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment.
• Working permit (IANG or student visa) in Hong Kong is required.
