Role details

People Operations Coordinator

Are you ready to build invaluable skills while having a real impact on the experience of the Second Nature team? We’re looking for a detail-oriented People Operations Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating exceptional employee experiences.

You’ll support an exceptional employee journey from the moment someone joins our mission to the day they move on to pursue new opportunities. You’ll combine operational excellence with a passion for people, work with us to deliver a world-class experience for our team, and keep our HR system, HiBob, accurate and up to date.

At Second Nature, we’re working to solve an incredibly complex problem—and we believe great employee experiences don’t happen by accident. They’re carefully crafted by people who care deeply about creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

What you’ll do

  • Run onboarding from offer to day one and beyond: drafting employment contracts, right-to-work and DBS checks, equipment, welcome meetings, and our new joiner buddy programme
  • Manage offboarding so people leave on a positive, well-organised note: exit checklists, equipment returns, and system updates
  • Keep HiBob accurate and up to date: process starters, leavers, and changes promptly, run people workflows, and spot and fix data issues before they become problems
  • Spot ways to streamline our processes, using AI where it helps
  • Support the running of team socials and away days
  • Process employee perks and benefits
  • Be the go-to person for any People questions the team may have
  • Help with day-to-day admin that keeps the People team running smoothly

Please note, this opportunity is initially being offered as an 18-month fixed-term contract with the ability to start as soon as possible.

Role-specific requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence, putting our people at the centre of all processes
  • Ability to handle confidential data and sensitive information with discretion and empathy
  • Growth mindset and ability to take on feedback
  • Methodical and organised, with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and working autonomously to tight deadlines
  • Confident with systems and quick to learn new ones; experience with an HRIS or ATS is a bonus, not a must
  • Interest in using AI and automations to speed up your work is also a huge plus

Who you are

  • A team player with a can-do attitude; if something needs doing, you’d rather muck in than wait to be asked
  • A keen eye for detail; a wrong start date or a typo in a contract genuinely bothers you
  • You love making processes better; if you’ve done something twice, you’re already thinking about how to make it slicker the third time
  • Proactive and efficient; you spot what’s coming and get ahead of it rather than waiting for it to land in your inbox
  • Empathetic and able to build relationships easily; you notice how people are doing—not just what they need from you
  • Mature and respectful with sensitive information and conversations; people can tell you things knowing they won’t go any further

The Company

The Challenge

Obesity has become a global epidemic; in the UK, we spend £9 billion a year alone on diseases like type 2 diabetes (that’s 10% of the NHS budget). What’s shocking is that most of this is preventable through sustained lifestyle and habit change.

Enter Second Nature

We’re here to help people take control of their health. By bringing together behavioural science, technology, and incredible people, our mission is to eradicate the global epidemic of chronic lifestyle diseases once and for all.

Our digital habit change programme—delivered digitally through mobile and web apps—helps people improve their lifestyle, lose weight, and ultimately reduce their risk for conditions such as type 2 diabetes.

About us

  • Positively changed the lives of over 250,000 people
  • Rated ‘Excellent’ by over 7k of our members on Trustpilot
  • One of the few consumer health brands commissioned by the NHS and Vitality Health
  • A leading B2C provider of GLP-1 medication-assisted weight loss programmes, and one of 5 NICE-approved providers to deliver these services within the NHS in the future
  • Team members stay with us for an average of 4.3 years
