Internship Program details

FWD’s Actuarial Internship Program is a great way to gain a head start on your actuarial career.

As an intern in FWD Group, you will be involved in the Group Actuarial function supporting various actuarial activities, including pricing, valuation, marketing, investments, risk management and modelling, for our expanding markets in Asia. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the Group Office level, where interns gain direct exposure to cross-functional collaboration and regional oversight. You will work side-by-side with experienced actuaries who will help translate your classroom knowledge into a strong, practical actuarial foundation. You will be part of a dynamic team to gain real-life work experiences in the insurance industry. This is an excellent opportunity to gain diversified experience across the full actuarial spectrum and to learn about yourself and explore potential careers.

Internship period is for June to December 2026 (Full Time / Part Time internships available).

Key Responsibilities

• Support Prophet / Alteryx / Python model related development
• Create Microsoft Excel VBA tools to perform profit testing in pricing for various types of products
• Provide support in the product approval process
• Conduct analyses for business planning
• Interpret experience study results
• Undertake data consolidation
• Prepare management presentations
• Perform actuarial research and statistical analysis
• Assist with EV / Capital / IFRS17 reporting
• Explore applications of Generative AI in actuarial workflows, such as automating reporting templates, enhancing data visualization, and summarizing technical documentation

Role Requirements

• Currently pursuing degrees in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Risk Management or related discipline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities
• Strong Excel and database skills
• Programming knowledge is an advantage
• Interest or experience in Generative AI tools (e.g., Copilot) is a plus
