Global Macro offers a full spectrum of products across FX, Rates, and Commodities in both developed and emerging markets—from millisecond electronic trading supported by advanced AI platforms to analogue risk transfer and bespoke macro solutions.
The team develops and structures complex volatility products and derivatives to meet clients’ and the organisation’s investment objectives, proactively identifying new business opportunities and developing potential solutions.
Job Purpose
As an intern in the Public Side Global Macro Structuring team (Scope: EMEA), you will support senior team members with routine tasks related to the team’s structuring activity. You are expected to build technical expertise and gain experience creating and marketing relevant products through work with more experienced colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide entry-level support on non-complex, transaction-oriented tasks within Public Side Global Macro Structuring.
- Assist with the end-to-end marketing process by working with relevant GM teams, as well as support execution of ad hoc solutions.
- Support the development of new products and solutions, learning how to market, price, and execute them.
- Prepare and distribute periodic press and news articles on topics of interest to the team.
- Use knowledge within the team to understand technical concepts relevant to the role and develop a personal understanding of the products.
- Apply technical knowledge and best practice to day-to-day activities, and help identify potential process improvements to improve efficiency and effectiveness of support.
- Develop basic skills under the supervision of more senior staff and build strong internal working relationships within the team and with other relevant teams.
- Complete tasks with limited guidance using your initiative, with supervision readily available; may also support more complex tasks with appropriate guidance.
- Ensure accurate, timely completion of tasks with attention to detail, and succinct delivery of information to support the team.
- Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements at all times.
Requirements
Essential
- Technical and broad understanding of Fixed Income & FX markets.
- Python programming experience.
- Capacity and willingness to continue developing specific technical knowledge of products.
- Ability to prioritise workload based on shifting business needs.
- Strong team player with cross-cultural awareness; able to work well with colleagues from a range of backgrounds.
- Good written and oral language skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Skilled in the use of standard computer software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel—VBA/Macro level—and Word).
Preferred
- Experience using financial information systems and in-house risk/pricing tools.
- University degree or comparable qualification/business experience.
