Responsibilities

PepsiCo Finance team members are key decision-makers influencing the company’s direction. Finance associates contribute to the following four roles to achieve our Winning with PepsiCo Positive vision:

  • Enhance enterprise value as a “Trustee”
  • Deliver sustainable performance as an “Integrator”
  • Reshape the business as a “Catalyst” of change
  • Set long-term strategy and target agenda as a “Navigator”

Strategic Finance interns gain foundational functional and organizational skills by rotating through different teams during their career. The internship is a critical feeder for future Finance leadership, encouraging risk-taking and inquiry. PepsiCo Finance comprises the following functional areas:

  • Brand and Marketing Finance: develop annual and long-term brand plans, build business cases for new innovation, manage marketing budgets, partner with Marketing and cross-functional teams to allocate resources and track KPIs.
  • Financial Planning (FP&&A): develop monthly forecasts, annual operating plans, and three-year strategic plans; prepare presentations for the Executive Committee and Wall Street.
  • Sales / Commercial Finance: build revenue plans with Customer Teams, optimize promotional spending and trade spend liabilities, manage portfolio mix to improve margins.
  • Revenue Management: set retail pricing and package architecture, advise on customer portfolio strategy, and optimize trade spend; assess trends and competitive environment.
  • Supply Chain Finance: analyze costs across production, labor, transportation, and selling; evaluate productivity initiatives and perform capacity analyses for capital decisions and production planning.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): execute transactions, lead due diligence, develop financial models, assist with business cases, and manage internal approvals.
  • Treasury: manage liquidity, FX and commodity exposure; develop cash flow forecasts, invest cash, evaluate financing proposals, hedge strategies, and review insurance terms.
  • Global Procurement FP&A: forecast and plan for direct and indirect materials; analyze commodity trends, productivity initiatives, and support hedging and contract management.
  • Strategy and Transformation: develop long-term strategy, support M&A and partnerships, deploy initiatives to future-proof the business, and coordinate sales technology and processes.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • Currently pursuing a finance-related degree; other related concentrations may be considered
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Bright, self-starting, innovative thinkers passionate about consumer products with an interest in Corporate Finance
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with a growth mindset
  • Ability to partner with cross-functional leaders to craft short- and long-term strategy
  • Awareness of digital trends and curiosity to learn new tools/technology; experience with digitization is a plus
  • Ability to manage and analyze large, disparate data sources and drive action
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate with MBA within one year of internship completion
  • Ability to be located in Chicago, IL; Plano, TX; or Purchase, NY
  • U.S. right to work status (no visa sponsorship expected for the internship)

Compensation & Benefits

The expected hourly pay ranges for 2027 campus interns are $55.50–$56.00. Role, degree, discipline, and location are considered when determining starting salary. Hourly pay for campus hires is pre-determined and non-negotiable. PepsiCo also offers opportunities to convert interns to full-time roles with a comprehensive benefits package, including:
